1. Start Simple with the Classic Hoverbike

The hoverbike—using two fans and a steering stick—is the most efficient early game flyer. To build one, attach two fans facing downward to a steering stick, spacing them evenly. This design is stable, fast, and uses minimal Zonaite. Practice taking off and landing on small platforms before attempting complex builds.

2. Balance Weight Distribution

Unbalanced vehicles tip over easily. When attaching heavy items (like large stones or metal crates), place them symmetrically. Use the center of mass indicator (a small yellow circle) that appears when you pick up objects with Ultrahand to check if your build will be stable. If it's off-center, reposition or counterweight with something of similar mass on the opposite side.

3. Master the 'Fuse into Ultrahand' Combo

Fuse materials directly onto your vehicle parts. For example, fuse a Flame Emitter onto a cart to create a mobile fire hazard, or attach a Time Bomb to a board for a makeshift mine. This saves materials and adds utility without extra attachments. Try fusing a Spring to a shield for a quick vertical launch.

4. Use the Right Wheels for Terrain

Small wheels are fast on flat ground but struggle uphill; big wheels climb slopes but are slow. For a versatile ground vehicle, combine two big wheels in the back and two small wheels in the front. Alternatively, use a Sled for sand or snow to reduce drag. Always test your build on the terrain you plan to traverse.

5. Build a Flying Boat for Water Crossings

Attach fans to the back of a wooden board, then add a steering stick at the front. This creates a hovercraft that glides over water, saving time and avoiding enemies. For added stability, place two fans side by side. You can also add a Rocket for a temporary speed burst, but be prepared for a crash landing.

6. Incorporate Steering and Stabilizers

A single steering stick allows basic movement, but adding a second one (or a Control Pad) lets you make tighter turns. For aerial vehicles, consider attaching a Stabilizer (a Zonai device that resists rotation) to prevent spinning. Combine with a Wing for gliding, but note that wings expire after a while.

7. Save and Reuse Your Favorite Builds

Use the Auto-Build ability to save schematics of your best vehicles. Before disassembling a creation, take a picture with the Camera rune and then use Auto-Build to recall it. This costs Zonaite, but saves time. For complex builds, create a schematic in a safe area and save it by using Auto-Build on the finished vehicle.

8. Utilize Gravity and Momentum

For land vehicles, start on a slope to gain speed without burning energy. Use Time Bombs or Rockets only when you need a sudden boost. In the air, let gravity do the work—turn off fans when descending to conserve battery. Combine with a Glider on the bottom to slow falls and extend range.

9. Experiment with Unconventional Parts

Don't stick to standard parts. Fuse a Boulder to a shield for a crushing weapon, or attach a Muddle Bud to an arrow for crowd control. In vehicles, try using Electric Batteries as power sources for devices, or Zonai Charge to instantly refill your energy. The possibilities are endless.

10. Practice in the Depths and Sky Islands

The Depths offer wide open spaces with few obstacles—ideal for testing large vehicles. Sky islands provide verticality for flight experiments. Use these areas to refine your designs without interruption. Remember, breaking your vehicle is part of the process. Each crash teaches you something new about weight, balance, and power.
